EMBO Installation Grants 2008 Award
€ 50,000 annually for three to five years        
Participation in EMBO young investigator networking activities

Eligibility:
Group leaders establishing labs in a participating country
(currently Croatia, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Poland, Portugal and Turkey)
First- class scientific background and publication record
Job offer in host country at time of application
Location outside host country for at least two years prior to application

The Breast Cancer Research Trust
Applications are invited for grants for clinical research projects which may be linked translationally into laboratory research undertaken in recognized cancer centres or research institutions in the UK, directly aimed at improving the prevention, early diagnosis and treatment of primary breast cancers.

The trust has previously raised over £3 million for support of such projects. Grants range from raised £50,000 per annum with a maximum of £150,000 over three years.

Science Foundation Ireland
Principal Investigator Programme for outstanding researchers, normally ranging between €50,000 - €1 million  per year and may be up to five years in duration.

Research Professor Recruitment Awards for outstanding researchers, with particularly distinguished international reputations, awards normally ranging up to €500,000 per annum for up to two years.

E.T.S. Walton Visitor Awards supporting leading international scientists who visit Ireland to undertake research for up to one year, normally ranging up to €200,000.

President of Ireland Young Research Awards (PIYRA) Attracting to Ireland and supporting Irish researchers with in five years of completing their PhDs, normally up to  €1 million over five years.

Human Frountier Science Program (HFSP)

Call for letters of intent for interdisciplinary research grants: Award Year 2009
There are two types of Grant:  Young Investigators’ Grants are for teams of scientists who all are within 5 years of establishing an independent laboratory and within 10 years of obtaining their PhDs. Program Grants are for independent scientists at all stages of their careers, although the participation of younger scientist is especially encouraged.

The Dr. Josef Steiner
Cancer Research Foundation Award 2009

The Award Consists of:
Funding up to the amount of CHF 1'000'000 over 4 years, for an outstanding cancer-related research project.
A personal prize of CHF 50,000 to be awarded to the successful principal investigator.
First, an outline of the proposed project will be evaluated.

Equipment Grants
Applications for research equipment (flexibly defined) from £10k-£100k

Art Network Grants
Grants exclusive to ART Network Members include:
Network cooperation Grants- up to £50k for innovative collaborative projects.

Emergency support Grants
Up to £30k to bridge funding gaps.
