The national center for the replacement, refinement and reduction of animals in research (NC3Rs) provides a UK focus for promotion, development and implementation of the 3Rs in research and testing.
The NC3Rs invites grant applications from UK establishments for projects which will advance knowledge in the replacement, refinement or reduction of animals in research, proposals relevant to any area of medical, biological or veterinary research or testing are edigible.

International Okamoto Award 2008
For researchers who have achieved a highly remarkable and internationally regarded result in
basic research on vascular diseases such as hypertension, arteriosclerosis, diabetes, and so forth. The award is established in 1985, in celebration of the memory of Dr. Kozo Okamoto who had established spontaneously Hypertensive Rat (SHR).

The award ceremony is to be held in Prague, Czech Republic, June 20, 2008 during 13th international SHR Symposium official satellite to International society of hypertension awardees will be invited to the ceremony.
