Medical Research Excellence

The prize amount is AED three hundred thousand (AED 300,000) (Approx. US $ 82,000) to be awarded equally to 3 winners. Indo-Us Science and Technology Forum
The Indo-US Science and technology Forum (IUSSTF), established under an agreement between the government of India and the United states of America, is an autonomous, not-for profit society that promotes and catalyses the Indo- Us Bilateral collaborations in science, technology and Engineering and Bio Medical research through substantive interaction among government, academia and industry.

The IUSSTF seeks to support innovative programs aimed to simulate interactions that have a strong potential for generating follow-on activates and building long- term Indo- Us S&T relationships.

The IUSSTF solicits proposals thrice a year (submission deadline- February, June and October) jointly submitted by the Indian and Us Principal Investigators from academia, government funded institution / laboratories and private R& D entities for Knowledge R & D networked and public private Networked Indo Us centers. Indo-Us workshop, conference, symposium, training schools, and travel grants (a) to avail already awarded fellowship and sabbatical position in India/Us. (b) For selected us participants to attain International conferences / events in India. (c) For specific exploratory/ planning visits aimed at large-scale collaborations.

International Okamoto Award 2008
For researchers who have achieved a highly remarkable and internationally regarded result in
basic research on vascular diseases such as hypertension, arteriosclerosis, diabetes, and so forth. The award is established in 1985, in celebration of  the memory of Dr. Kozo Okamoto who had established spontaneously Hypertensive Rat (SHR).

Summary of candidates research
List of publications and rReprints of some major work, using a set of formats fixed by the foundation. Please ask the Secretariat to send it to recommender. Selection decision: Chosen by the selection committee of the foundation and decided at Board of Directors Meeting. Persons concerned will be notified of the decision late In January 2008. The award ceremony is to be held in Prague, Czech Republic, June 20, 2008 during 13th international SHR Symposium official satellite to International society of hypertension awardees will be invited to the ceremony.

The Kay Kendall Leukemia Fund

Junior Research/Travel Fellowships 2008

The Kay Kendall Leukemia Fund invites applications for three-year research fellowships into leukemia and/or related hematological conditions. Awards will be made from the following categories:

  • Scientific fellowships: Open to scientists, usually with 0-3 years postdoctoral experience, intending either to work at a recognized UK research institution or seeking a travel fellowship for relevant work abroad.
  • Clinical research fellow: Open to clinicians seeking funding for PhD in the filed of leukemia research usually at a UK center.

The Kavli Prize

For outstanding scientific research in Astrophysics, Nanoscience and Neuroscience. The first Kalvi prize will be awarded in OSLO in Septmber 2008 and will consist of a gold medal, $1000,000 and a scroll.

Kentucky is implementing a program that will match both Phase 1 and Phase 2 Federal SBIR and STTR awards to our high-tech small businesses – no other state has a program designed to do just that.

If you are an SBIR or STTR awardee from Kentucky, or are willing to relocate to Kentucky, you could apply for funds from the commonwealth to match your federal SBIR-STTR awards.
