Schellenberg Prize for Research 2007
IRP. International Foundation for Research in Paraplegia
The prize will be awarded on the basis of scientific merit to recognize recent achievements in the cellular and molecular aspects of spinal cord development, plasticity and regeneration following lesions. It consist of 100,000 Swiss francs and is intended to support a young but established group leader active in experimental research related to spinal cord injury and repair.
The prize money can be used for personnel, equipment or supplies, and will be handed over to the winner at Geneva, Switzerland, in October-November2007.

Deadline: May 31, 2007

The Roche Foundation for Anemia Research (RoFAR)
RoFAR announces a new special competition cycle
In addition to its regular research grant awards, RoFAR now invites scientists and institutions to submit applications for a special grant of up to 1.6 million CHF. RoFAR is particularly interested in innovative proposals, involving established researchers, which provide proof of principle and/or translational research, particularly studies which have the potential to be transferred into clinical practice.

Deadline: Letter of Intent submission has already started and will end on June 30, 2007

NATO Funding

The Science for Peace and Security Programme offers grants to scientists in NATO, Partner and Mediterranean Dialogue countries to collaborate on priority research topics, which include NATO priorities and additional Partner country priorities. Grants are also offered to assist the academic community in Partner countries to set up computer networking infrastructure and to optimize their use of electronic communication.

Deadlines: July 1, 2007 & November 1, 2007

High Q Foundation, Inc.
The High Q Foundation, Inc. is a private philanthropic foundation that was established in 2002 with the mission of bringing together academia, industry, governmental agencies, and other funding organizations in the search for Huntington disease (HD) treatments. High Q are now accepting proposals for proof of concept experiments that may have relevance to identifying novel therapeutic targets. The Rammal Award
The Rammal Award, created in memory of the great Lebanese physicist Rammal Rammal (1951-1991), is awarded each year to an outstanding personality of strong scientific stature who, through his or her life and activity in a Mediterranean country (whether in fundamental or applied research, teaching, or the integration of knowledge), has elevated the level of scientific exchanges in this part of the world.

The Breast Cancer Research Trust
The Breast Cancer Research Trust is a charity dedicated to funding clinical and laboratory project research, undertaken in recognised cancer centres or research institutions in the UK, directly aimed at improving the prevention, early diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer.
Grant range from £50,000 to £150,000 over three years

Funding only to specific units in teaching hospitals or universities in the U.K. Limited grants available up to a term of 3 years. Grants reviewed annually. Application forms can be downloaded from the website.
