The LAM FOUNDATION
THE LAM FOUNDATION offers research funding for the study of the cellular and molecular basis of pulmonary smooth muscle infiltration in the fatal lung disease of women, Lymphangioleiomyomatosis (LAM). The three-year LAM Post
Doctoral Fellowship Awards and Established Investigator Awards provide a maximum of $150,000 over three years. Pilot project awards of up to $25,000 are also available for the initiation of innovative research projects.
Fellowship candidates must have at least two years of experience, a PhD, MD, or equivalent degree, and perform the work in a laboratory with established expertise in smooth muscle biology, genetics of tuberous sclerosis or other
LAM-related areas. Established investigators must have a substantial track record in research. Mechanistic, hypothesis driven approaches of all types are welcomed. Formalin-fixed LAM tissues, dispersed LAM lung cells, genetic
probes and other reagents are available.
Spring and fall application deadlines are March 15th and September 15th.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
Translational Research Program 2006
The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society provides early-stage support for clinical research on leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma which is intended to develop innovative approaches to treatment diagnosis or prevention.
Applications may be submitted by individuals working in domestic or foreign non-profit organizations such as universities, colleges hospitals and laboratories.
Awards will be limited to a maximum of $200,000.

Human Frontier Science Program (HFSP)
The Human Frontier Science Program supports international collaborations in basic research with emphasis placed on novel, innovative and interdisciplinary approaches to fundamental investigations in the life sciences. Applications are invited for grants to support projects on complex mechanisms of living organisms.
Research grants provide three years support for teams with 2-4 members with not more than one member from any one country unless members are absolutely necessary for the interdisciplinary nature of the project.

The Epigenome
The Epigenome Network of Excellence (NoE) brings together 25 established research groups, 12 newly established research teams (NETs) and 26 associates, from 10 European countries, under a €12.5 Millon grant from the European Union (EU) Framework 6 Programme (FP6) to advance epigenetic research over the next 5 years (2004-2009).
